Pierre Bruneau débute sa carrière en 1972 à la radio CFDA de Victoriaville, suivi de la radio CJTR Trois-Rivières, pour faire le saut à CKAC Montréal de 1973 à 1980. C’est en 1976 qu’il fait son entrée à TVA comme chef d’antenne du bulletin de nouvelles. Il est à la barre du TVA midi ainsi que des bulletins de 16 h 30, 17 h et 18 h de LCN et TVA.
Au cours de sa carrière, Pierre Bruneau a couvert près d’une quarantaine de soirées électorales municipales, provinciales et nationales comme chef d’antenne à TVA, en plus d’animer plus d’une dizaine de débats électoraux.
Coup de cœur du public à plusieurs reprises, il détient 23 trophées Artis à titre de meilleur animateur de bulletin de nouvelles. Il a reçu plusieurs honneurs qui saluent sa contribution exceptionnelle à la communauté, dont la médaille du Jubilé de la Reine, obtenue en 2002. En 2003, il a été décoré par l’Ordre du mérite de l’Association canadienne des radiodiffuseurs en reconnaissance à sa longue carrière au sein de l’industrie de la radiotélévision. Nommé Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Pléiade, en 2004, il a également reçu l’insigne de l’Ordre national du Québec, en 2008, et de l’Ordre du Canada, en 2012, soit la plus haute distinction civile remise au pays. En 2014, il se retrouve à la première position d’un sondage, réalisé par Ipsos Reid pour le compte de Sélection du Reader’s Digest, et devient la personnalité en laquelle les Québécois ont le plus confiance. L’année suivante, il reçoit également les prix de la confiance IPSOS/ICO dans les catégories secteur caritatif et secteur information et journalisme, prix qu’il a obtenus à plusieurs reprises. Après avoir reçu l’Ordre de Montréal en 2021, il s’est également vu attribuer le prix Raymond-Charette pour avoir su se démarquer par la précision de sa langue, par la richesse de son vocabulaire ainsi que par la clarté de son expression.
Pierre Bruneau est aussi reconnu pour son apport philanthropique. En hommage à son jeune fils, décédé d’une leucémie en 1988, Pierre Bruneau a mis sur pied la Fondation Charles-Bruneau pour assurer que tous les enfants atteints de cancer aient de meilleures chances de guérison.

Simu Liu made history as the star of the first Asian-fronted movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Destin Daniel Cretton’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which garnered him The People’s Choice Award for Favorite Action Movie Star.
For five seasons, Liu starred in the CBC/Netflix comedy series Kim’s Convenience, which won the ACTRA Awards for Outstanding Ensemble in 2017 and was also nominated for the same award in 2018. Kim's Convenience also went on to win the award for Best Comedy Series at the 2018 Canadian Screen Awards. Liu’s first major role was on the critically acclaimed OMNI crime drama Blood and Water, the first trilingual series (English, Mandarin, and Cantonese) produced by Canadian television, for which he received nominations at the ACTRA Awards and Canadian Screen Awards. Her production company Redcloud Studios Inc., has been at helm of many television series including: The Seventh Generation, Rabbit Fall, The Other Side, Moccasin Flats, and Future History (Canadian Screen Award 2020 for best director) and the acclaimed feature film Empire of Dirt which was nominated for Best Picture at the Canadian Screen Awards

Paul Pope was a giant in the Canadian media production community and a huge advocate for the industry in Newfoundland. Through his tireless promotion of the province, and the work of his company, Pope Productions, Paul was instrumental in bringing hundreds of film and TV projects to Newfoundland. His credits include the TV series Hudson & Rex, Life With Derek and Above & Beyond and movies Grown Up Movie Star, Rare Birds and Extraordinary Visitor. He was a force of nature, whose generosity helped launch countless careers. His enthusiasm, brilliant intellect and patience, along with his legendary sense of humour are deeply missed.

Award-winning actor Peter MacNeill has had a successful career in both film and television. Feature film credits include Guillermo Del Toro’s Oscar nominated Nightmare Alley, David Cronenberg’s film A History of Violence opposite Viggo Mortensen, Kevin Costner’s feature Open Range, starring Costner, Robert Duvall and Annette Bening, The Stone Angel with Ellen Burstyn and Cinderella Man with Russell Crowe.
In 1997 he was presented with a Genie Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Whiskey Mac in Thom Fitzgerald’s The Hanging Garden. Other big screen credits include The Caveman’s Valentine, featuring Samuel L. Jackson, Kit Kitteridge: American Girl with Abigail Breslin, Frequency with Dennis Quaid, Simon Birch, based on the John Irving novel and David Cronenberg’s Crash; First Round Down directed by Brett & Jason Butler; Cardinal opposite Sheila McCarthy, and Regression with Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson. He also recently appeared in The Kid Detective opposite Adam Brody.
In Television, MacNeill has no shortage of credits. He can currently be seen as a series regular on the CBC hit show Moonshine which will soon air its second season. For four seasons played the patriarch of the Fitz empire in the series for HBO Canada Call Me Fitz alongside Jason Priestley, for which he was nominated for a Canadian Screen award for Best Supporting Actor. Lisa LaFlamme has been at the forefront of journalism for over 30 years tackling some of the biggest issues of our time, traveling the globe, delivering breaking news and bringing it back home to Canadians. The internationally respected journalist has interviewed major newsmakers, Prime Ministers, Presidents and Princes while always keeping the spotlight on the injustices that plague the world’s most oppressed. LaFlamme has traveled to some of the world’s most dangerous places and through her extensive war coverage of Iraq, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Ukraine has documented the reality of how conflict warps society, punishes the most vulnerable and benefits the most corrupt.
A native of Kitchener-Waterloo, in 1988, LaFlamme began her career in local radio and TV in her hometown before making the move to CTV National News in 1997. She moved from Prime Time anchor of CTV Newschannel to an Ottawa correspondent in CTV’s Parliamentary bureau. In September 2001, LaFlamme became co-host of the number one morning show Canada Am. Her second day on the job, 9-11, the attacks on the World Trade Centre pulled her out of the studio once again to report from New York City, the United Nations, the Pentagon and ultimately Iraq and Afghanistan. For more than a decade LaFlamme went from conflict zone to disaster zone delivering award winning coverage of hurricanes, earthquakes and climate crises including Southeast Asia in the wake of the deadly 2005 tsunami and Japan’s devastating nuclear emergency in 2011. That same year she was named Canada’s first female anchor of a national nightly newscast replacing longtime anchor Lloyd Robertson. As Chief Anchor and Senior Editor of CTV National News for almost 12 years, LaFlamme led the country’s number one newscast and cemented her role as the face of news in Canada. During her career, she has received critical acclaim for her live special broadcasts from around the world marking moments in history from Royal weddings to funerals, major political upheaval at home and abroad, the rescue of the Chilean miners, the opioid crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing resilience of refugees. LaFlamme has reported extensively on the humanitarian crisis facing the Afghan people and has worked intensively on helping Afghan women and girls under threat by the Taliban.
The veteran journalist is the recipient of 12 Canadian Screen Awards, consecutive RTDNA awards as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award for broadcasting and journalism. Over her career she has received an honorary doctorate from her alma mater University of Ottawa, an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ont. and the University of Windsor and an honorary Doctor of Letters from Trent University. She is the recipient of the Order of Ontario and in June 2019, was named Officer of the Order of Canada (O.C.), one of the country’s highest honours. A passionate advocate of democracy in journalism, LaFlamme volunteers for Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) and has traveled with the organization to the Democratic Republic of Congo to mentor young journalists in Goma, in the heart of the conflict zone. She serves as honorary co-chair of the annual JHR Night for Rights.
Lisa is also an ambassador for Plan International and volunteers for Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan.
